CHICAGO, March 6, 2011 — Bormioli Rocco, the leading Italian manufacturer of glass tableware and professional glass products, today unveiled its latest houseware lines - Nettuno and Cometa - and newly formulated product materials - Star Glass, Porcelain Glass and XLT Treatment - at the International Home & Housewares Show 2011. Alongside the new collections presented, Bormioli Rocco is showcasing its newest additions to some of its most popular lines, including Ypsilon, Ceralacca, and Frigoverre. 

 

Both the Nettuno and Cometa concepts were inspired by the needs of Bormioli Rocco’s customers, to create a complete table setting that truly reflects their desire for high quality and beautiful design.  Nettuno’s collection includes simple, yet elegant shaped tableware made from thermal shock-resistant tempered glass, perfect for add style to everyday use. The Cometa collection, however, is made from Porcelain Glass, drawing inspiration from architectural designs and standing out for its bold, contemporary look.

In addition to the new products, motifs and line extensions, Bormioli Rocco developed and presented three new material compositions used to create its unique glass products and designs. 

• Star Glass: has the brilliance and purity of crystal without the addition of lead, using a new formula that allows maximum glass neutrality and a total absence or hints of color and impurities.

• Porcelain Glass: resembles porcelain, but has the features of tempered glass, in that it is non-porous, while guaranteeing cleanliness and 100% recyclability, for a totally environmentally sustainable approach. 

• XLT Treatment: new extra lasting treatment created to resist scratches and chaffing without altering the perfect transparency of glass, while providing greater strength to its wine glasses compared to any other currently available on the market. The XLT treatment lasts over the entire life of the product and will not wear away in time.    

 

Aside from Bormioli Rocco’s Home products, it has also designed a new product for the professional market called Electra, the first collection of stemware made from Star Glass, XLT Treatment.
